1. Acceptance of these terms
By using esignmypdf.com (the "Site"), including the signing tool at esignmypdf.com/sign, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. The service
esignmypdf provides a free web-based tool that allows you to open a PDF file in your browser, add signatures, text, comments, and highlights to it, and download the modified file. All processing of your file occurs locally on your device. We do not operate any backend that receives, processes, or stores the contents of your PDFs.
3. No account; no fee
The tool is free to use. There is no account to create and no payment is required. The Site is supported by advertising displayed on guide pages.
4. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- The lawfulness of the documents you sign and the signatures you apply.
- Determining whether an electronic signature is legally appropriate, valid, and enforceable for your particular document, jurisdiction, and counterparty.
- Obtaining any consents required from other parties to a document.
- Keeping your own copies and backups of signed documents.
You agree not to use the Site:
- To forge another person's signature or to commit fraud.
- To sign documents that you have no legal right to sign.
- To attempt to disrupt or attack the Site or its infrastructure.
- To reverse-engineer the Site for the purpose of replicating a competing service in violation of applicable law.
5. No legal advice
Information published on the Site (including in our guides) about electronic signatures, their legal validity in various jurisdictions, and related topics is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for consulting a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. We make no representation that any signature applied with this tool will be accepted or enforceable in your particular legal situation.
6. Intellectual property
The Site's design, code, content, and trademarks are the property of esignmypdf and its operators, except where third-party libraries are used under their respective licences (PDF.js, PDFLib, fonts, and similar). You retain all rights in the PDFs and signatures you create or upload — we do not claim any ownership of, or licence to, your documents or signature images.
7. Third-party content
The Site loads some third-party resources (advertising scripts, fonts, and JavaScript libraries from public CDNs). Your use of those resources is also subject to those third parties' own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements served by Google AdSense or other ad partners.
8. Availability
The Site is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Site will be available, error-free, secure against all attacks, or compatible with every browser or device. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, without notice.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site and all content are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that signatures produced using the tool will be deemed valid or enforceable by any court, regulator, or counterparty.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will esignmypdf, its operators, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability to you for any matter arising from or related to the Site is limited to fifty United States dollars (USD $50).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless esignmypdf and its operators from any claim, demand, or damages arising out of your use of the Site or your breach of these Terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the homepage. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence to the extent they apply. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any non-waivable consumer rights you have under your local law.
